Yes.
To support the Victorian Government commitment to increasing diversity across the public sector, any VPS employee who identifies as a person with disability is eligible for 12 months access to the JSE when they leave their employment. This includes employees who resign from their ongoing or fixed term employment, or if their employment contract ends.
For the purposes of the JSE Recruitment Policy, disability includes long-term (lasting 6-months or more) physical, mental health, intellectual, neurological or sensory impairments which, in interaction with various attitudinal and environmental barriers, may hinder full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.
This definition reflects the social model of disability, adopted by Getting to work: Victorian public sector disability employment action plan 2018-2025, a collective commitment to increasing the engagement, representation and meaningful employment of people with disability across every level of the public sector.
