Under the Jobs & Skills Exchange (JSE) Recruitment Policy, only people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, or a person with disability, participants of an eligible employment program or internship, and redeployees and fixed term employees whose contract of employment ends on and after 31 March 2022, are eligible for extended access to the JSE after they leave the Victorian Public Service (VPS).
An employee whose employment is terminated due to poor performance, misconduct or other disciplinary reasons is not eligible to access the JSE after they cease employment in the VPS. This includes employees whose employment is terminated as part of a negotiated settlement or agreement. Note that this position supersedes other eligibility provisions to access the JSE including if someone identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, or a person with disability.
Ongoing employees whose position is made redundant and who are subject to redeployment are eligible for 9 months extended access to the JSE where redeployment has not been achieved by the end of their Redeployment Period. However, redeployees who do not participate in the redeployment process are not eligible for 9 months’ JSE access after they leave their employment.
